Charlotte Perriand is a design icon like her famous shepherd stool. A visionary, she invented a new art of living in the 20th century: shapes, furniture, spaces praised throughout the world, which she designed in Le Corbusier's workshop then alone, against all odds, and as far away as Japan.
But it was in nature and in the mountains that this gifted designer found her inspiration, a child fascinated by the glaciers on the horizon, a passionate skier, a daring mountaineer, a hiker curious to meet the creators of the villages and mountain pastures.
Pascale Nivelle drew on her exceptional collection of photos to tell the life of a committed, joyful woman, for whom the mountain was a perpetual “re-creation”
