Some addresses are more than just shops.
Au Vieux Campeur is one of them.
Since 1946, the establishment on Rue des Écoles has been equipping lovers of peaks, trails, and open horizons. People come for a tent, a backpack, or a pair of shoes. They stay for the passionate advice, the stories of ascents, the still-hazy projects that emerge between two aisles. More than a business, it's a rallying point.
Today, Au Vieux Campeur is opening a new store, true to its original spirit, but focused on a different way of experiencing adventure. Because adventure doesn't always begin at the end of the world. Sometimes it starts around the corner.
With the launch of its "Au Vieux Campeur – Congés Payés" lifestyle line, the brand extends its heritage. It's a direct nod to founder Roger de Rorthays who, in the 1930s, worked at La Samaritaine in a department called "Congés Payés" (Paid Holidays). An expression rich in history, symbolizing a social achievement and a new way of life: that of free time.
The new store embodies this spirit. A wardrobe designed for those who transition seamlessly from asphalt to trails, from daily life to escape. Simple, durable, obvious pieces, and a look without ostentation.
Au Vieux Campeur - Congés Payés can be found at 109 Boulevard Beaumarchais, Paris 3.
