Men's sweater

A men's sweaterisn't something you buy every year. And that's precisely why it's so important to choose it well.

The collection of men's sweaters from Au Vieux Campeur - Congés Payésextends the legacy of the Rue des Écoles brand in a new form: men's knitwear designed to last several winters, without ever going out of style or losing its shape. Worn alone, or layered over a men's sweatshirt or t-shirt depending on the season, the pullover remains, for us, a safe bet, not a whim.

A winter wardrobe that doesn't change just for the sake of changing

We are not the type to reinvent knitwear every six months. We prefer models that cross the seasons without showing their age. Each piece takes up classic codes and sticks to them.

  • Cuts and models:The classic men's sweater, the sleeveless sweater for mid-season days, or the more distinctive look of a half-zip collar. Regarding finishes: a round neck for sobriety, a V-neck for a bit more structure. We don't chase originality; a good cut is more than enough on its own.
  • Vests and cardigans:The men's vest is worn open, over a shirt or t-shirt, for days when the weather is still uncertain. The cardigan, on the other hand, takes the codes of the vest with a bit more structure, a piece you put on without overthinking it, and yet it makes all the difference.
  • Materials and comfort:In 100% wool for warmth and drape, or in 100% cotton for milder mid-seasons. Two materials, one requirement: that they last over time.
  • The detail that isn't seen: Neat finishes, ribs that hold their shape, tight knits to withstand successive winters. A good deal isn't always seen; it's worn.

This lifestyle wardrobe also includes men's knit sweaters, chunky knits for the coldest days, and the classic winter jacquard pattern. Some will see it as an unapologetically vintage sweater. We prefer to say it never truly left the wardrobe.
